Editorial: Americana

This editorial flat is the perfect inspiration for the rustic Americana theme. No one does it better than Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren. Classic looks of soft denim and slouchy leather really tie the theme together. You should be able to hear the horses when you look at this flat. The photoshoot would take place in a wide open range, with hay bales and old, wooden fences. Maybe even a horse or two in the background.

Look 1
This look gives the perfect touch of Americana to any little girl. The denim dress (Nordstrom, $58) embodies the western, carefree look, while the cable knit stockings (Kohl's, $14) give it a feminine feel. The brown boots (Nordstrom, $49) and infinity scarf (Nordstrom, $14) give essential touches to create that comfy, meet-me-in-the-stable vibe.

Look 2
This boy's look is more affordable than the previous look, but is just as American! You can never go wrong with a classic flannel and worn-look jeans (Old Navy, $18, $20). The leather jacket (Burlington, $40) and cowboy boot (Payless $30) give the edgy, badass cowboy his essential accessories.

Look 3
This look is my favorite. I can just see this little fashionista running around trying to help mom with the horses. The authentic riding pants (Bodenusa.com, $48) and Michael Kors riding boots (shoes.com, $49) make this look the real horse-riding deal, while the Ralph Lauren shirt (Macy's, $45) and fur vest (Old Navy, $23) give it that fashionable twist.

  5. I love how you made looks for kids! It's such a huge market that I feel we as students overlook a lot. The looks are really great and go along with your moodboard seemlessly.
